Cchi Certification Requirements

Cchi established specific certification renewal requirements in order to assure that certified interpreters keep abreast of the professions development and at a minimum maintain their skills at the level achieved at certification.

It is the responsibility of the certificant to provide information about a ce course that is sufficient for cchi to make an evaluation as to whether the course meets cchis ce requirements. Documents issued in a non english language must include the english translation in the same file. Cchi acknowledges that technological and logistical changes within the healthcare interpreter profession occur at a steady pace. After 20110901 the following procedures have been used to certify albertaachi members and grant them the the right to use the cchi logo and the professional cchi designation. Cchi will accept all ce courses that meet cchis requirements for continuing education as described by cchi as long as sufficient information for the evaluation is provided by the certificant.

Cchi defines continuing competence as the level of certificants knowledge at a minimum equal to the level at the time of their assessment.
